Cookies
This website sets no cookies of its own.
No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and nothing that follows you to another site. The forms do not set cookies either.
What may be set anyway
The site sits behind a security and performance layer that protects it from automated attack. That layer may set one short-lived technical cookie needed to tell a real visitor from a hostile script and to serve the pages safely. It identifies nobody, holds no personal information and is not used for tracking. Cookies of that kind are strictly necessary, which is why there is no consent banner: a banner asking you to accept cookies the site does not use would be theatre.
What is not a cookie
The server keeps a plain log of page requests — the page, the time, your internet address and browser — for security and to see which pages are read. That is held on the server, not on your device, and is explained in the privacy notice.
The Clerk Assist system
Councils that sign in to the Clerk Assist system use a session cookie so the sign-in works; that is part of the service and is covered by each council’s agreement, not this page.
If this changes
If analytics or anything else that sets cookies is ever added, this page will say what, why and for how long before it goes live, and the date below will change.
