Need a clerk at short notice? Email [email protected] — tell us which council and the date of the next meeting.

Locum & Support

Help for a council, whether or not it has a clerk.

Two services, separate from the Clerk Assist system and open to any parish or town council in England, of any size. There is no price list: fees are quoted for the role, the council and the level of support required, after a free initial conversation.

In short
  • Norfolk-based; on site or remote
  • Short notice is normal
  • Clerk, Proper Officer and RFO, together or separately
  • Any size of council — the software’s size band does not apply
  • The first conversation costs nothing
No clerk — or about to lose one

Locum Clerk, Proper Officer and RFO cover

One meeting, a period of absence, or the whole gap until a permanent appointment. The clerk has resigned, is off sick, a meeting is already called, the RFO role is empty before the precept or the AGAR, or access has gone with the person. Tell us which council and when the next meeting is; we will say quickly whether we can cover it.

Council support and consultancy

Extra capacity alongside the existing clerk, an independent review, or a defined piece of work: governance and policies, finance controls, staffing and recruitment, business continuity, handover and mentoring, and support through a difficult period. Scope and fee agreed in writing before anything starts.

Council support

Not sure which?

Tell us what has happened. Email [email protected] with the council, a phone number and a good time, and we will ring you and say which fits — or that neither does.

Separate from the software

Neither service needs a council to use the Clerk Assist system, and using the system does not require either. For a longer assignment we may run a temporary seat for the council, at no extra charge and with no obligation to continue afterwards.
